It has been our experience that Rumex sanguineus 'Raspberry Dressing' performs well in our area in a cool season planting. We have found it to continue to be attractive into the start of summer, but it starts to become unattractive as the weather becomes hotter. As the weather cools and the year moves into the fall and winter months, it begins to fill out and become attractive again. If this remains in the ground during warmer months, it is recommended to plant around it to hide its unattractive nature until the weather cools again. It is prone to deer herbivory. It is about ten inches tall and about ten to twelve inches wide.
